Recruiting in Louisiana

#itsfallyall. Which means the recruiting continues! I got to be a part of the team that traveled to Northern Louisiana. We interviewed at ULM, LA College, LA Tech and ended in University of Arkansas –Monticello. When thinking back on the trip, “loaves and fish” is what I believe best describes it. Let me explain.

On the final morning of our trip, Shawn shared in our meeting how God had multiplied our efforts. He took what we brought and gave us over and beyond anything we expected just as He did when Jesus and His disciples fed the five thousand with only a few fish and loaves of bread. Below is a recap of the trip sharing all of the many blessings we were able to be a part of.

The trip began with a staff party at the Moore’s house complete with Johnny’s Pizza. The next day was spent interviewing at University of Louisiana- Monroe, a place we had never been recruiting. By the end of the day we had done over 20 interviews. Amazing!

Next stop, was LA College and then Ruston Louisiana for two crazy days of recruiting at LA Tech. That night we had an awesome opportunity to set up our display at a coffee shop called “The Depot.” It is connected with the college ministry of a church. We got to offer free coffee, fellowship with staffers, meet new people, and sign students up for interviews.

The following day the booth was packed! Our faithful staffers stayed all day helping out and teaching people how to play spikeball while we interviewed. The next day was exactly the same but with even more interviews. In two days the four of us were able to interview 75 different people!

We were blessed to stay with the Moore family who so graciously hosted us for two nights, giving us great food and conversation. Our final day was spent interviewing in Arkansas before the drive back to Texas.

On top of great fellowship, 21 interviews at ULM, amazing staff, the hospitality of the Moore family, and 75 interviews in two days, a student accepted Christ during an interview. Praise the Lord! He truly blessed us in abundance throughout the trip. So the great reminder of the story of the loaves and fish. God takes what we bring and multiplies our efforts in ways we would have never thought.

Recruiting is an incredible experience. There are so many times I stop and think, “What?! This is my job?” We are so blessed as staff to get the opportunity to travel and spend time talking with college students. We get to hear stories of God’s redemption and have the opportunity to challenge and encourage. Another week of recruiting is now in the books! But, it is exciting to think what all God has in store for the next fewweeks to come!
