Rollin’ to T-Town
The tide wasn’t the only thing rolling last weekend! Our crew rolled into Alabama Friday night to start preparing for a Saturday full of tailgating time with staff. Reunions happened, chili was eaten, and spike ball tournaments were played! Staff came from far and wide, but it seems that the Silverado staff had the biggest showing.
After eating some infamous Mugshots burgers on Sunday afternoon, we left Title Town and headed to Birmingham. Because Sunday is a day of rest, we decided to do so by enjoying some healthy competition with a game of Nertz in the hotel lobby. This became a traditional way to end each day and resulted in lots of laughter and a few new nicknames. For the sake of the pride of the individuals on the trip, a scorecard will not be pictured…
A restful Sunday afternoon allowed for a full day of interviews at Samford University. With the beautiful fall weather it was hard to stay inside, and spike ball created quite the buzz on the quad.
The rest of the week was spent back in T-Town with Alabama staff. Between three full days of interviews, college ministry visits to Epic and The Well, and a staff hangout at TCBY there was never a dull moment with the Bama crew!
Oh and speaking of TCBY, I almost forgot to mention the game of 1 to 10 that Jimbo lost where he had to put EVERY SINGLE TOPPING from the toppings bar into his fro-yo!
So, as you can see, it was quite an eventful week. The Lord was faithful to provide fruitful interviews, intentional time with staff, and safe travels. We have been so blessed by God’s faithfulness thus far in our recruiting season, and we are now approaching the last week of having teams out on the road.
Please pray that we finish strong and that God continues to allow us to be bold in sharing the Gospel and to be a blessing to those we encounter on college campuses all over the nation! If you are reading this and you have not applied yet, (or you know someone who still needs to) seize the day! Please don’t miss an opportunity to #APPLY yourself at camp this summer and to be a part of the incredible things that God is choosing to do here at Pine Cove!
