Our first big recruiting trip of the year has come and gone, and what better way to kick off our recruiting season than with the biggest tailgate in Spence Park for the Aggie game against SMU?!

I’m sure you’ve heard the saying: “When it rains, it pours.” Well, let’s just say we got to experience both the literal and figurative meaning of that infamous saying during our time at A&M. Just see for yourself…

A little (more like a LOT of) rain did not stop us from claiming our tailgate spot Friday morning. There was no denying Pine Cove’s presence on campus once we pulled up with our logo wrapped trailer and pop up tent to stake our claim on a tailgating spot. That presence allowed us to strike up some pretty cool conversations with our tailgating neighbors and the recruiting began! Saturday’s tailgate was a pretty muddy one, but a successful one nonetheless.

Muddy Feet

Well, you’ve had a glimpse of the literal pouring, now for the figurative…

We were able to do 348 interviews in just the five days we were on campus! Needless to say, it was pretty much a constant party in the MSC! Our recruiting team, as well as our Aggie summer staff, was diligent in getting the word out and creating a fun environment at our booth. There were also a plethora of awesome APPLY pictures instagrammed and awesome emojis used via text to get the word out that Pine Cove was on campus. Just ask Bunga about the emoji part, he’s pretty much an emoji expert! (see below for proof)

All of you Aggies, do not worry, we were able to hit some pretty great BCS Hotspots while in town too. I can unashamedly say that we went to Grub Burger, Laynes, and Fuego at least twice each. Our Monday night announcement crew got to experience sorority row, and a few of our full time staff also got to experience Breakaway!

Fun Pine Cove Staff Road Trip

So you may see this blog post and see just how much fun we had in Aggieland, but there is also another piece to this trip that I do not want to be missed. You see, interviewing 348 students means our staff had the opportunity to hear 348 testimonies. That means that our staff had the opportunity to challenge and encourage 348 college students in their walks with the Lord. That hopefully means that 348 students, along with our full-time staff, left that week changed for the better because the Gospel was preached.

We, as Pine Cove, have the opportunity to set up on college campuses and spread the name of Jesus. Do we want to spread the name of Pine Cove so that we can have awesome college students come and work? Of course! More importantly though, we want people to know who Jesus is, what he has done, and how he has transformed our lives. This past week, we had the opportunity to do just that through our actions and conversations at Texas A&M University. We get to continue to do just that on college campuses all over for the next seven weeks!

I invite you to join us in praying for our recruiting trail, so that the Gospel can continue to run on college campuses all over! Follow our recruiting trail here so that you can see when Pine Cove is coming to a campus near YOU!
