Bible Study Theme: MADE
The summer is here once again and numerous high school students all around the country are preparing to pack their bags to come and spend a week at the Pine Cove Shores. All the while, the counselors have been named, the excitement is high, and the jumping is even higher!
Every year there is a new Bible study prepared for the campers and this year is no different. The theme for the 2014 Bible study at the Shores is MADE. Though it may seem like a simple title, MADE contains a vast amount of information that is both challenging and encouraging.
The Bible reveals the concept of things being MADE all throughout its pages. These start at the beginning of time: starting in Genesis 1:1 and continuing to the very last sentence of the Bible in Revelation 22:21. Whether it is God making things in creation, mankind making mistakes, or God making a solution to it all; we cannot ignore all of the ideas that MADE encompasses.
The individual studies will include a specific statement everyday and a memory verse that summarizes the idea of what is to be communicated. The daily progression of the study goes as follows:
- What God MADE
- Man MADE in His image
- We MADE a mess
- God MADE a way
- We are MADE to worship
Campers will be able to see all of this information unpacked for them through their counselors, nightly club talks, meaningful worship, and tons of fun activities in a Christ-centered environment!
Not only is the information in the study informative and interesting, but the physical layout is unlike any that the Shores has had in the past. Instead of a booklet to write in, we have creative MADE journals for campers to utilize for notes along with various other fun activities. The Bible study itself comes in a new pocket edition, composed of specifically designed cards linked on a carabineer!
Ultimately, the prayer of the staff here is that they will come to either an initial, or deeper, understanding of the love that God has for us in Jesus Christ and that campers will be able to grow closer to Him over the course of their six days at the Shores. We want our campers to learn why it is important and necessary that,
“For our sake He MADE Him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.”
2 Corinthians 5:21
